I ran for 10 minutes, my wii fit would be proud. All that for a good 4G...
Alright I'm not the targeted audience but I liked the art so I joined. I haven't played any of the similar titles so when the orbital strike starts to fall at the 10min mark (or were they mines ?), I knew my running was going short. I'm not a fan of being chased by hotdogs that takes half the screen because the map is kinda small but it was fun. I simply wish there were a variety of merchants, or at least they'd tell me something, maybe with another nice portrait ?
The character's picture in game was a bit stretched for me, no biggie but if piggy sue is adding 10 pounds she's gonna needs more magic.

Otherwise it's one of the well-made indie game that keeps me coming back here every now and then. Maybe there is another song on another level ? I didn't get that far.

Thanks for the compliments! Happy to hear the game keeps you returning here although you're not the target audience, that's awesome!

The final boss fight gets pretty hectic, but with time and the right gear I'm certain you'll beat it.

For the stretched character portrait, embarassing that I'm only now noticing it, I got it fixed now.

And sorry to disappoint but there isn't another track on a different level. The difficulty levels don't change the stage itself, instead they increase material and gold gains while making the run more challenging in various ways. Thanks again for the feedback!

Glad my little review was somewhat useful. I guess after a while the music loop help to stay in-game.
Keep up the good work. Cheers.

I know the game is long done, but having played well... hours of it, I do have a few suggestions to make it so people may want to finish it (because of as of now, the randomness of inventory stat increasers can truly be a buzzkill).

I wish I could sell items (and the amount of them I want to part with). There needs to be an extremely expensive item that could only improve a stat up to like 15 points(to keep it somewhat fair), not randomize it's value, that way if you truly only want to go up in the progression, you have to grind for it (which to be fair, in order to beat the final challenge you kinda have to, but it's no where near guaranteed as things are, which kinda turns one off from ever beating the game).

Other than that, I legit like the game a lot, hence the hours and hours of it played, but I just can't seem to beat that final level with that huge damage increase. I'd keep the damage increase as is, just wish I could power myself up reliably to match it. To feel like I truly did accomplish something, and not got lucky after god knows how many tries as it currently stands.

Edit: Just beat it, but woo boy did i have to work at getting the buffs right on my loadout, a lot of resetting the game to eventually get there. And how much of my progress it saved was a bit inconsistent.

First off thanks for the feedback, and congrats on beating the final diffiuclity that's awesome! I'm not actively working on the game anymore, but I do fix issues and often add features based on suggestions.
I deleted our discussion to keep the comment section clean, so here's a summary:

  • The material you suggested won't be added since I like the RNG crafting(HEAVILY inspired by POE).
  • An arrow pointing at chests won't be added as I feel like it'll add visual clutter and I want to avoid none critical distractions.
  • Materials are now sellable by right clicking them.
  • Save/load issue was likely casued by the game not detecting quits on browser exit/refresh, fixed now.

Thanks again for the feedback, help and for the time put into the game!

Really nice vampire survivors vibes, I played an apparently older version of it on unity play page (the game is featured there in the action category) and that's how I found it here.

I haven't even played the new version here yet for long but it already looks even more polished

(+1)

Thanks for the compliments! The game has been featured on their website for quite a while now which is really awesome.

This version has way more content—characters, enemies, bosses, abilities, stats, quests, items, crafting, difficulties, and more... You get to create your own build and defeat harder difficulties to earn more loot.

Hope you enjoy it!

found bug for some reason the clensing I used on warrior dident save but other things did. also having 2 items with the plus 8 attack speed plus 5 attack per empty ability slot only works like there one item. also this one of my fav games I rate games I really like cuz of how many game I have in a collection its hard to get to my fav games so I rate my fave games

(1 edit)

Really happy to hear this is one of your favorites, that's a huge compliment!

About that buff, I'm not sure about making that buff stackable since it could get out of hand. EDIT: all buffs now stack.

For the cleansing issue, if you quit right after using the material the game may not save the stats. It could also have removed a different stat since it’s random or returned the material to your inventory if it had no effect. If none of these apply sadly I'm unsure, but I suggest trying again and if it repeats let me know and I'll look into it.

I appreciate all the feedback and that you enjoy the game a lot!

is uzi supposed to only shoot behind u cuz that's what its doing

(+1)

Did you read the weapons description?

what the game said to me was a fast shooting weapon

(+1)

u can use cleansing on your character and it lets u remove like warrior now has normal speed ice guy have normal hp its too op so I think make cleansing only work on equipment but u could add a new stone like 3 x cost of normal clensing and it would remove the bad stats on charecter

(1 edit)

Hi! I saw you left a rating on the game along with this feedback, thanks for that!

  • Yes uzi is supposed to only shoot backwards.
  • Cleansing is the second rarest material in the game and designed to be very strong. Min-maxing with it is intended, game should still remain challenging on harder difficulties even if u do so.
  • I saw you mentioned a revive bug in your rating. It was likely caused by being able to take damage and die during the revive process, oops... Hopefully I fixed it now.

Thanks again for the feedback and enjoy playing!

ok

I've noticed that sometimes the equipment's unique perk doesn't stay the same when I change it, it switches back to what it was before after I leave the inventory, and the game sometimes doesn't save correctly

I actually completely forgot to save the equipment's unique perk between sessions, that's insane.

It's fixed now, Thanks again!

(+1)

Notice anything strange?

Weird... Do u remember what interactions lead to this?

(+1)

I believe that I had bought the ice diamond replacement, and then I purchased the ice diamond as an extra weapon, I'm not sure, I'll try to recreate it to be sure

(+1)

Might also want to think about changing how strong the effect is for the perk of being bellow 33% health and doubling regen and block, or regen and lifesteal, especially for aoe centered builds

Thanks for the feedback and suggestion!

It's fixed and I lowered the hp threshold for the x2 regen, lifesteal to 20% hope it feels better.

The game is alright, but kinda repetitive, grindy, so i didn't bother to buy much stuff with gold. It's my first roguelike.
Here's a video i made playing the game

the game sometimes thinks im holding a key down when im not

Registeing key clicks is built into Unity and this issue isn't common. Maybe try checking your keybinds in options, maybe you have extras or a faulty key.

The game is fun!

Seems you're mixing the low res sprites (8x8 or 16x16?) with the higher res ones in the game. I guess this is unusual and in my option it has a negative impact on the aesthetics. Are the low res sprites just placeholders or are you going to improve this?

(+1)(-1)

Hey there, thanks for playing, glad to hear you had fun.

I mixed low res sprites with higher res ones due to lack of artwork(I'm not an artist myself). That being said the game is heavily inspired by Vampire Survivors which does the same thing and imo it contributes to its retro feel so I don't think ill be changing that, thanks for the suggestion tho!

(+1)

Sooo. I liked at the end how the game tried its best to kill by the portal spamming but I did it. Its the warrior. That guy is OP. Once you have level 8 Boomerang, sword, and Uzi, its impossible to die.

(+1)

Nice one, it was fun to play, reached around 7 minutes.

I like the setting, the soundtrack, and the direction of the art style.

I hope it is ok, if I would recommend adding the Pixel Perfect camera component, and if you are using a canvas, you can also enable Pixel Perfect there as well, to avoid these lines that are happening, when something is moving.

Hey glad you had fun!

I appreciate the recommendation on the pixel perfect camera/canvas, it does solve the issue with the lines but it also makes the movement appear a lot less smooth so u kinda lose the "breathing" effect and it just looks like laggy movement. Thanks for the recommendation anyway tho!

Good job mate! Nice version of vampier survivors

The game is great. I like the art. From what I remember the early parts were hard to understand, I thought you have to click to attack, but no, you just wait. The later parts of the game (Particularly Endgame) were very easy, the only hard part was the Odin Quest for not taking damage while killing 500 entities, though I haven't done any Fortuna's Quest.

Also, I think Ice Nova (but more like Super Nova) is a bit overpowered, the range on that weapon is too large, like the entire map large.

Anyhow, looking forward to the next updates!

Happy to hear you liked it!

Ice nova was broken but is fixed

Thanks for the feedback, it helps a lot!

Hey, it's me, the author of Lumberjack Survivor :) I played the game for a bit. I think it's really good. I really like the art & polish and some of the little twists, like the disappearing gems and the teleporting trader. The difficulty is pretty tough from the get go, but this is highly subjective. Personally I prefer it, I had issues with others complaining about too high difficulty in my game and now I have the opposite problem, lol. Will come to play more for sure, need to beat that first boss! And then I'll have even more feedback to share. I noticed just one technical issue, there's sometimes a black line between the tiles, one pixel wide. FYI about the lost progression, have been sovling the same issue...I'm sure you already figured it out, but if not give me a shout.

(1 edit)

Hey, thanks for jumping over and the feedback! The difficulty does seem to be very subjective with different opinions about it, still not sure where to take it.
I(hopefully?) fixed the black line between tiles issue.
Thanks for the help with the lost progression, I'll leave the thread where you helped me out Here.

FUN!  The game mechanics are great in general, love the individual skillsets between characters. Because of the size and depth right now I didn't play past 6-8 masters per character, would have if this had more worlds and options. Looking forward to the update!

Thank you for playing! Really glad you enjoyed it :D
